Hello friends and family!!!
This week we had something called first friday! First Friday is a community event in Brunswick where the people get together and shop and drink and concerts and booths. Brother and Sister McVeigh take us out to eat pizza and then we get to go street contacting for a few hours and set up future appointments with the people we meet. We also had stake conference in our area. Mission President Lee and his wife even spoke at it, it was a really good conference! The only thing is we forgot to tell our new convert, Brother Nixon, and he came to the regular building and no one was there :( We ate at a ghetto chinese buffet, and I guess thats just how Brunswick is, haha. I saw the Atlantic Ocean for the first time! When we were on Saint Simons Isalnd, we took a 5 min opportunity to see the Other Side. We hiked the bridge this morning, and halfway ran it. We were competing with Brother McVeigh's 45 min workout training. We have 12 new investigators (11 last week) and its crazy because that is a lot! We are always meeting new people, but its hard to meet up with them. A lot of people just work all the time here. My companion and I bought matching shirts, so that marks a sign of our time together. A few weeks there will be transfers and I hear 12 new sisters are coming in. Everyone really has a dog here. I love seeing all the kinds of dogs, seems to be a variety here. Preach My Gospel only makes sense as a missionary, but when it does make sense, it is so good.
We met a nurse at the hospital who recognized us as mormon missionaries! She said she was recieving lessons before, but lost contact with the missionaries and wanted to meet again! Awesome! So many miracles happen around here. The members are a lot of fun. A lot our prime investigators are moving away, everytime we find somone who would be baptized.....oh well! Other missionaries need the encouragement, we know there is always someone in Brunswick we can find and teach. Member referals are so important! It brings context and true fellowship and brings great results. Member present lessons bring great blessings as well. Be a member missionary! There are so many ways!
Love,
Sister Jill Prue
