Letter #28 - I'm Alive πŸ˜ΈπŸ˜ΈπŸ‘Œ

July 17, 2017

This week we had zone conference, with many ideas and methods to be better missionaries. Everything that is taught actually stems from the preach my gospel book. Which is how it should be, but also from current teachings of the apostles. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. Many people think living by the commandments is restricting, but it actually opens up endless possibilites for your potential. I have seen this in my own life.
Marie and Eileen are continuing to see how the gospel can bless their life. 1st ward is getting more and more involved helping them. We are continuing to find more people to teach, including a family.
Today is zone p-day, we are having a lot of fun with the other missionaries. Including volleyball, which is a lot of fun. Things are going well. I am constantly learning. Hope to share more soon,

Love, Sister Prue

Letter #27 - 1.5 weeks update and still no pictures πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†

July 10, 2017

Dear Family and Friends,

July 3, 2017

This week I was picking up a frog and it peed on me!! Last Monday we went to target, and I remembered who I am (a basic white girl) πŸ‘§πŸ‘§ I bought some cute letters to write on.

July 10, 2017

Well, I didnt get to finishing last week, sorry! This week some missionaries in my district spearheaded an amazing devotional about Jesus Christ, which brought the spirit so strong. President and Sister Lee came to it, and also an investigator we met the night before! Amazing! We set a baptism date for Marie for the end of this month, we hope we can help her prepare for it by that time. 6 months ago today I was leaving the MTC with my fellow missionaries and going to Florida entering the Field! We have been meeting a lot of new people who want to investigate the gospel and the church. I love teaching people the Gospel, and teaching lessons. We have zone conference this week, and I love those, the spirit is always so strong and it makes you feel like you can go out and share the gospel with anyone and it will go perfectly and easily. (The spirit makes you a lot braver, lol). Tonight and tomorrow I will go on trade off with the sister training leaders, I am staying in this area again.

I have been reading the book of mormon all my life and of course i get sent to the bible belt :) I wish I was more knowledgeable with the bible, but I know enough with the Gift of the Holy Ghost, the spirit can guide me to share truths and testify to the most knowledgeable scholar of the bible and I wont be afraid. "Faith and Fear cannot coexsist" (and so spirit+gospel library+other missionaries=success)

4th of July We had district meeting in the morning, and then lunch and went out and sang 'my country tis of thee' to people we met on the street and we found a refferal to send to other missionaries. Us and the elders ate at Sister Sperrys house and she can crochet anything, she will make me a plushie of my choice, but i dont know what i want yet....

Outside it is storming right now and we looked out and saw our car in the rain and said "now thats what I call a power washer!" haha.

Lastly, i read Daniel 1-3 for an ivestigator. It was insightful and I invite yall to read it too.

Love, Sister Prue

PS I know that Jesus Christ is my savior. Also, Temple President confirmed more obedience and prayers= hotter husband/wife πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ’–πŸ‘¨‍πŸ‘©‍πŸ‘§‍πŸ‘¦ πŸ˜‚

Letter #26 - 🐾🚴‍♀️πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ˜¬πŸ˜πŸ˜† Transfer Calls!

June 26, 2017

Family and Friends!!!

It has been another wonderful week with many exciting things :)
Starting with last monday night we met with some referrals from a member in another ward. They are two women Marie and Eileen. They are SO READY for the gospel! They have been keeping their commitments, asking questions, and sincerely do what they can to learn what we share. We have been bringing members every time and I can feel that they will get baptized and find the JOY and PEACE the gospel brings! Somehow it has been working out perfectly, so much fun! We have been teaching more lessons and more people to teach in general, so i really like that. 🦊
Sister Ganir got to go to the temple last thursday for her halfway mark, so I spent the day with Sister Spangler! She is a lot of fun, she is in my district. It has gotten very hot this last week. We have been biking some too, so it has been a bit physically exhausting, but that does not stop us, it just helps us sleep better.
Saturday Night was transfer calls, Sister Ganir and I are staying here in Fleming Island, yay! We will have a great time here, and find someone to baptize. For those of you who know Elder Reeser from my hometown, he will be my Zone Leader.
Sunday night was a GENESIS concert (gospel interfaith singing) Those people who sang BELTED and it was kinda overwhelming but it was a lot of fun to see all the missionaries who were there, love them! Saw Sister Elwell there. As missionaries, we sang "called to serve" and "one by one" A sister (member) took us to the concert and shared that she was on her fourth marriage, and the person who she was married to, it was his fourth too. She said that they were in fact High School sweethearts, and he was her first kiss! Funny how that they eventually came back together in the end. She shared important advice to never beg or chase after someone, if they want to stay in your life, they will, and if they don't, you cant stop them. Sister Ganir and I were talking about the mission, companionships, and eternal marriage after she got back from the temple. I have gained a stronger testimony that I want someone who loves God too and that I can be sealed in the temple with. It is very important that Heavenly Father is involved in all important decisions, because he can guide us to the most joy. πŸ‘¨‍πŸ‘©‍πŸ‘§‍πŸ‘¦

I saw John 8:32 this week, idk if I have ever seen it before, but its funny because it sounds so 2000's
32. "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

Our FJM Motto
I love tough things πŸ‘
I do though things first πŸ‘
I am first to do tough things πŸ‘
I LOVE being a MISSIONARY 😍😍😍

Letter #25 - Missionaries in the Flemingburg SQUAD!!!

June 19, 2017

Hello Family and Friends!!
(A
This week was stake conference! President and Sister Lee, the Orlando temple president and his wife and the stake patriarch were there. Those are pretty cool people, Im proud to say that President Lee bore a powerful testimony. On Saturday, the elders gave our investigator Teresa (because she has been sick) a blessing. It was a good experience for her, I know how helpful blessings can be. It has been raining a lot here! We have been trying to plan a district golf p-day, but the rain is foiling our plans! 😬😬😬 Haha, oh well.
Personally, one of my favorite parts of missionary work is the other missionaries! They are so much fun. I was thinking about these awesome people, and I thought "well the best squad i've ever been in is a missionary squad"
Gabriel came to stake conference, this is a great milestone for him. We have been biking this week, and its actually really fun, its great exercise and makes you feel good.
There is so much to learn in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our understanding and faith can help us truly change to a christlike (πŸ’―) character.

In Jacob 4:13 there were something amazing! "the Spirit speaketh the truth and lieth not. Wherefore, it speaketh of things as they really are, and of things as they really will be;" Yeah, so thats how you know!

Letter #24 -If something happens, ride a golf cart

June 12, 2017

Dear Family and Friends,

Life right now is quite worry free. It's wonderful. As a missionary, it has gotten a lot easier to just enjoy each day and take it as it is. This week we went on trade offs with the sister training leaders for a day. I stayed in Flemming with Sister Tryon, who has been in this area twice before! Sister Ganir and I tried to do more specific finding and we found several formers who are willing to meet with missionaries again. We had 3 investigators come to church this week. I'm sorry I have cheesy titles but it feels like an obligation. We have been biking a bit this week. I wish I could individually write all of you every week, unfortunately i do not have the time or focus for that, so if you want to hear from me more personally, ill commit to writing everyone back who writes me at this point. I am so grateful for all the family and friends who have been supporting me so far. thanks. sIster skelton had us over for dinner, it was so good. she is from haiti and speaks french to her children, it was so fun to watch. I found CTR washi tape in the apartment. well, i yall have more specific questions. let me know. ill try to answer them.

Letter #23 -We played ultimate Frisbee

June 5, 2017

Hello Family and Friends!

It has been another week of adventures! This week Alexi decided to come to church! It was fast and testimony meeting, we were also hoping he would go up and bear his testimony, but he said he would next month :) Sister Waness also came to church and bore her testimony. Saturday, we had dinner with her and her husband Kenny. He said the closing prayer, and we were so surprised! Today is zone p-day, which means we get to hang out with our zone! since this is a new zone for me, there are a lot of missionaries i dont see so often. 3 Nephi 13 is a very enlighting chapter in the book of mormon about our relationship with God. I reccomend all to read it. I like  verse 26 and 32

26 Behold the fowls of the air, for they sow not, neither do they reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

32 For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

Im wearing a pokemon shirt, I think sister Kelly prue got the same one on her mission too!
People here are generally very nice. They offer us water and food, and anything else.
I hope you all are also having a great week. Right now I'm reading Our Heritage. I finished Our Search for Happiness.

Letter #22 -1 Year Left!!!! and more.....

May 29, 2017

Hello family and friends!

It has been another great week. Today marks one year left, meaning next year this day I'll be heading home! Yeah! In this area we are driving one of the new mission cars, the 2017 Chevy Malibu. You dont put the key in its transmission, it has its own wifi hospot. Unfortunately, the church wont pay for the wifi, so after the free trial was up, it didnt work anymoreπŸ˜…πŸ˜… It's a fun ride. Tyresa and John came to church this week, they really enjoyed it. Probably because I spoke in sacrament meeting πŸ˜‰The Flemming Elders and Sisters all spoke to the congregation. I discussed blessings God promises when we build of his kingdom, and details surrounding that.
This week we had zone conference. The spirit was incredibly powerful as President Lee bore his testimony of missionary work and the atonement. He also showed clips of Elder Holland and President Eyring sharing similar thoughts. I wish the whole world was there. The ward mission leader Brother Rivera is very excited about his calling, which will bless the ward so much! His dedication will help the ward council really strengthen the members and bring many miracles to the area. 😸😸😸
My belief in priesthood authority has strengthened a lot while on my mission. Also Joseph Smith. We met with an investigator, Alexi, who has many similar beliefs but doesn't get the restoration part at all. 😬😬
It's getting pretty hot here. When we knock on people's doors, they sometimes offer us water. People here definitely don't have an issue with talking, which can make it a little hard to share our messages. My favorite video right now is part of the mormon messages for youth called "staying spiritually fit" The EFY songs are pretty fun too. πŸ™„πŸ™„
Last Monday we were on the way to Walmart and it rained so hard we couldn't see outside our car! For about 20 minutes it rained very hard. That is a common thing here.
OK so I wrote stuff in my journal, but I forgot it, so sorry this is about it. Love ya'll!
