Beach Trip for Departing Missionaries

July 9, 2018

From my mom to the mission Facebook page - Every transfer my mom and I would see the beach pictures of the departing missionaries on the blog. We knew with a chronic illness that it might never happen, but it brought tears to my eyes to see these in my e-mail today. So excited for tomorrow!

Letter #71 - My Last Weekly!? ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ•

July 2, 2018

Hello Family and Friends,
This is the final time. This is my last whole week of the mission and I will be arriving home next week! So here are some housekeeping items. You are welcome to email me at jillissa.prue@gmail.com ๐Ÿ˜ I am planning on holding a social media fast for myself the week I get home, however I still will be available on Facebook messenger.
This week we trained at 4 district meetings and had 3 tradeoffs, it's been crazy! I got to be with Sister Larson, Sister Allgaier, and Sister Wolfley! It is a wonderful time to spend time with and get to know the Sisters. They are a joy ๐Ÿ˜ There have been so many growing experiences and testimony builders.
We had Dinner with Josh and Allie and Josh basically invited himself to read the book of Mormon ๐Ÿ˜… We had Presidents interviews, the assistants reminded us the importance of the gospel of Jesus Christ in our teaching.
Today we went to the park and went bowling! This week will will have dinner with the waites followed by transfer calls. I'm going to be finding a few more people to teach, 1 last tradeoff and 2 more district meetings! Until we meet again y'all. Love ya, Sister Prue

Letter #70 - ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜ธ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Doin Good

June 25, 2018

This week ....has been a week ๐Ÿ˜… Someone in the ward was very nice and was able to help me update my contacts. I went to the temple this week and was later able to ponder the blessings of a raised righteous vision. Of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Of blessings we are able to recieve from living God's commandments. I have been able to recieve the knowledge that my Heavenly Father is proud of my efforts. Though sometimes we feel we are alone in our trials, we are never alone when we turn to our Savior Jesus Christ. We are God's hands and he needs me to reach out to those who stand in need of comfort. To share the Joys of Jesus Christ's atonement.
I went on a tradeoff with Sister Meeks in her area and we talked to a lady named Adrianna. She looked and felt lost. She didn't know who God was. She was willing to start reading the book of Mormon and I dont know if she has yet, but I'm sure glad that we got to talk to her and feel Christ's love for her. God's plan for me has given me a lot of hope, I know having a personal relationship with Him has changed my life.
We have seen a lot of outward results from our efforts this week. We have had several people read substantial amounts of the book of Mormon. Some were more sincere than others. We are starting to teach some couples/families.Thank y'all for the support you have continued to give me ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ธ๐Ÿ˜ธ

Letter #69 - "Anything I send to my Grandma, she laminates" ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ

June 18, 2018

Hello Family and Friends ๐Ÿ˜‚

It has been another week. I got to go on a tradeoff with Sister Seegmiller. She is so greaattt! This is her first transfer in the mission field. She is so relaxed and that was nice thing to relate to. We stayed in my area (Gainesville 2) and we sure did something!๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ We have been playing ultimate frisbee for exercise a few times, except the grass is so wet and my shoes get soaked๐Ÿ’ฆ We are waking up early many times, I know the Lord is strengthening me because somehow I'm still going. We had zone conference and I bore my testimony๐Ÿ˜ธ President Lee sobbed during the testimonies and many in the crowd shed tears. It's hard for the missionaries to see Sister Prue to leave. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ They moved the temple trip early and I'm going this week, so that will be a good experience! It's been too long and I have so much to learn there๐Ÿ‘ผ๐Ÿป Sister Beecher and I are working our area for all its worth. We are seeing the blessings of following up, with finding more people to teach, such as families๐Ÿ˜ We went to Newberry and I introduced sister Beecher to Cilantro Taco. She liked it.
"And don’t be alarmed when the prophet’s warning voice counters popular opinions of the day. The mocking fireballs of annoyed disbelievers are always hurled the moment the prophet begins to speak. As you are humble in following the counsel of the Lord’s prophet, I promise you an added blessing of safety and peace." - Neil L Andersen

Letter #68 - IT COMES STORMIN IN๐ŸŠ‍♀️๐ŸŠ‍♀️๐ŸŽฃ๐Ÿ„‍♀️

June 11, 2018

Hello Family and Friends, ๐Ÿ˜
This week the Thunder and Lightning has been fantastic. It sounds so close like it's going to bring the house down! With Sister Beecher, we talk to EVERYONE. I often get nervous to talk to people, but sister Beecher has no fear. It gives us a lot more opportunities to testify of the Book of Mormon and of Jesus Christ's gospel. We hand out so many book of Normans ๐Ÿ˜‰ I also love the app cards, because it's basically the same thing as handing out a bom. What's easier than opening a book? Downloading an app. Somehow, this is the logic we experience today. We had dinner and lesson with Brittany and Bryan and the Staceys came along as our member fellowshippers. They agreed to come to church!...until Sunday night ๐Ÿ™ƒ But I always think about how patient the Lord is with us and he always gives us several attempts as well. We got to go to Jacksonville for MLC. Talked about helping our investigators to keep commitments. People are not likely to change until invited to do so. And ya gotta keep following up. Real life people.

I had a chimichanga for the first time this week. It was good. And jimmy johns. We gave a book of Mormon to a Baptist lady and she said she would read it. Barbara is going to convert her whole family. We call back a person and miss 5 more calls in the process. Comes to MLC an hour early so we aren't late. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

"Eventual exaltation requires our complete fidelity now to covenants we make and ordinances we receive in the house of the Lord....

I bless you to identify those things you can set aside so you can spend more time in the temple. I bless you with greater harmony and love in your homes and a deeper desire to care for your eternal family relationships. I bless you with increased faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and a greater ability to follow Him as His true disciples." President Nelson, Let us All Press On

June 4, 2018

Hello Family and Friends!
This week (last Monday) I dropped off sister Esquerra so she could go home๐Ÿ›ซ๐Ÿ›ซ and I spent a few days with the sisters in Jacksonville! It was an amazing time! I was with Sister Byington and I got to know her. She is awesome and I'm so grateful to meet her for the short time we had. Then on Wednesday, I joined my last companion, SISTER BEECHER. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ She is literally an answer to my prayers. She is so focused and so hardworking. I love it!๐Ÿ˜ END STRONG ๐Ÿ˜ we visited Sister Miller and Sister Miller ( who arent related) and Sister Miller made us a cake! She had baked leftovers of another cake she made and felt like decorating it and sending It home with us. We met a minister named Greg and he came to church! He leads praise and worship at his church. He is open to different He said he wants to come next week. We also met a 10 year old who wants to do Family History! She said, " im going to download the app right now" and proceeded to make an account ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
I LOVED President Nelsons devotional last night. It was incredible. I'm going to take his challenge when I come back. This is the time to rise and shine! I love our prophet and the action he's been taking to help the world repent.

Luke 21:31-33
31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Letter #66 - Hello! Last Transfer ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

May 28, 2018

Hi Everyone,
This week we had transfer calls and I'm staying in Gainesville as a Sister Training leader for my last transfer! Sister Esquerra is going home and I'm going to be companions with Sister Beecher ๐Ÿคฃ Its the perfect ending, I'm so excited. There are so many adventures awaiting๐ŸŽต I got to go to a neat little southern restaurant that is built from an old southern house. It was so much food and a neat experience. I got southern fried tilapia. Sister Esquerra went on her going home temple trip and had a great time. I spent the afternoon with sister Gabbitas and Sister Angell. Barbara is excited to get baptized. I got to see two of my old companions sister Kirkham and Sister Williams one last time and I love them so much. I get to stay with the Jacksonville sisters while I wait for my new companion.

Moroni 8:3
3 I am mindful of you always in my prayers, continually praying unto God the Father in the name of his Holy Child, Jesus, that he, through his infinite goodness and grace, will keep you through the endurance of faith on his name to the end.

Letter #65 - 3 back to back๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿ‘ง

May 14, 2018

Hello Family and Friends!
We had a great week with many wonderful sisters! We went on 3 tradeoffs with our Gainesville sisters! I went with sister Newman, SIster Angell, and Sister Kicenski! They were so hardworking and dedicated to the Lord. I joined sister Newman in the YSA and had a blast! I even saw a few Gators around as we talked to everyone! Their semester just ended so there werent many people around, but we still had a great time!
Sister Angell and I stuck to my area. She has the spirit with her and has done so much before her mission :) Sister Kicenski and I took a tour of Florida as we got a bit lost in the country part of my city area. We also met many wonderful people in my area.
We had interviews with President Lee and so the Assistants came and gave a training on teaching with the spirit and it really touched so many of the missionaries.
We also had skype calls with our parents! I got to talk with my parents and so it was pretty normal comparatively. Its like 50 something days left.

Letter #64 - Friends

May 7, 2018

Hello๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
This week was Zone Conference as well as my first trade off as a Sister Training Leader! The theme personally for me at ZOCO was friends, as Heavenly Father emphasized the importance of long lasting, respectful relationships that last forever. Sister Esquerra gave her departing testimony, I've known her since the beginning of my mission. She was one of the first sisters I met in the field. We had a mini reunion of the missionaries that came into the field with me from the MTC. It was fun to see our progress. I love the missionaries of the FJM. I went to Ocala with Sister Weyland and visited her area๐Ÿ˜ They have lots of people to work with and we had some fun lessons. She is a great missionary and she isn't even out of 12 week training yet๐Ÿ˜ฎ We are having dinner tonight with Brittany and Bryan, our investigators. They are beginning to read the book of Mormon and asking questions ๐Ÿ˜ We also got to watch the YSA devotional, it was a good reminder that we don't need to be miserable, we can be happy serving others. Christ is always the perfect pattern of life.

Letter #63 - Hello from Gainesville!๐ŸŽ‰

April 30, 2018

Hello friends and family! I have been enjoying Gaineville so much! As we have been working with the members, one of them found a family member they want to share the gospel with in our ward boundaries! We shared the restoration lesson with a member family at dinner and immediately found someone in their apartment to teach named Ann! We were able to share that miracle with the member family who we just invited to do missionary work. We had MLC this past week for mission leaders. It is like a precursor to zone conference and we get to council about the mission! Zone conference is this week and Im so excited. Sister Esquerra and many of my other mission friends will be giving their departing testimony in either of the zocos. Hope y'all are doing fantastic, love sister Prue ❤

Letter #62 - I'm going to GAINESVILLE ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

April 16, 2018

This week we had transfer calls and I'm going to Gainesville! I get to be a Sister Training Leader for the Gainesville and Ocala Zones! More importantly, I get to be Sister Esquerra's companion again, so exciting! I think ill be here for the rest of my mission. I'm replacing my trainer, Sister Elwell's spot, because she is going home tomorrow! I'm excited to get to know all the Sisters in my area, my new position will be incredibly busy! I've always wanted to see Gainesville and now I get the opportunity to experience it❤

Sister Spangler gets to be a 2nd Half trainer in Timiquana๐Ÿ˜ She is going to have a lot of fun new experiences as well.

There have been a few more rainstorms, it rains crazy hard here!
There are going to be many new and fun experiences ahead! I probably won't have as much time sending personal emails, so I'll try to focus on the weekly from now on. Hope everyone has an amazing week!

Letter #61 - Week from Sister Prue

April 9, 2018

Hello Family and Friends,
This week is another attempt to get rid of lice! We had tradeoffs this week and I got to go to the other half of Lake City with Sister Armstrong. We talked to a lot of crazy people ๐Ÿ˜‚ This weekend is transfer calls. So exciting. I have been in Lake City for 3 transfers, so I'll probably be going somewhere else now. The general conference talks have been so inspiring.

Prepare to Meet God- Quinten L Cook
"We are grateful that many more members are preparing to go to the temple. There has been a significant increase in the number of worthy adult temple recommend holders for many years. Limited-use recommends for worthy youth have increased dramatically over the last two years. Clearly the faithful core membership of the Church has never been stronger.
In conclusion, please be assured that senior Church leaders who preside over the divinely appointed purposes of the Church receive divine assistance. This guidance comes from the Spirit and sometimes directly from the Savior. Both kinds of spiritual guidance are given. I am grateful to have received such assistance. But guidance is given in the Lord’s time, line upon line and precept upon precept, when “an omniscient Lord deliberately chooses to school us.” Guidance for the Church as a whole comes only to His prophet."

Nancy, Al, and James came to church this week! Al read 1 Nephi 12 and didn't want to go to hell, so he came to church and bore his testimony. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Letter #60 - 99 Lice at General Conference

April 2, 2018

Hello Family and Friends!
This week has had some adventures ๐Ÿ˜… General Conference was spiritually uplifting and included some fun new changes! Visiting and Home teaching has been revised and renamed as ministering! New temples are being built all over the world! Elder Robbins and Sister Oscarson spoke, which made me really happy! There were many promises and challenges extended to help us become the people that God wants us to become ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜
Sister Lindboe has started teaching us Karate classes for morning exercises and it's a lot of fun. We did a 5 hour service activity handing out food to people right before Easter. Then I got LICE ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ and spent a few days resolving that....
I have a testimony that Russel M Nelson is truly our prophet today on earth๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Alma 26:22
22 Yea, he that repenteth and exerciseth faith, and bringeth forth good works, and prayeth continually without ceasing—unto such it is given to know the mysteries of God; yea, unto such it shall be given to reveal things which never have been revealed; yea, and it shall be given unto such to bring thousands of souls to repentance, even as it has been given unto us to bring these our brethren to repentance.

Hello Family and Friends!

This week has had some adventures! Brother Locke cooked our steak with an icebox and water. Then he blowtorch melted the cheese on top ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ we tried biking up a high hill and it was really hard. Our investigator Nancy got a blessing and it really comforted her ๐Ÿ˜Š This next weekend is general conference. We are excited to see many miracles this week! In our district meeting we talk about the fruits of the spirit. We have been praying for each other's investigators in our district.

Letter #58 - Hello-mid week

March 14, 2018

Hello Everyone! This week we had Zone Conference with Elder Lynn G Robbins and also stake conference with him and Elder Carter, the area seventy as well. We had a part member family that got to come to church as well as Shannon. Elder Robbins talked about raising our children with resilience and asked members of the congregation of their experiences. He said since the generation of the great depression, following generations have not been as resilient.
Zone Conference, I got to see a lot of lovely missionaries I've served around before. Elder Robbins talked about giving investigators the vision of something they can work towards and the motivation that comes along with it. He also said that the way we treat our companions will be the way we treat our husband's and wives. He asked us as missionaries what we like about President and Sister Lee. He thinks our mission has high love and high expectations which is where is should be. We went to members house for dinner who pretty much has a farm in their backyard, haha! We went a lake downtown today. I actually have only seen the ocean in Georgia and never in Florida yet! We had an inspirational ward correlation with our WML. He gave us advice for our mission and for marraige as well.

3 Nephi 12:2
2 And again, more blessed are they who shall believe in your words because that ye shall testify that ye have seen me, and that ye know that I am. Yea, blessed are they who shall believe in your words, and come down into the depths of humility and be baptized, for they shall be visited with fire and with the Holy Ghost, and shall receive a remission of their sins.

Letter #57 - A quarter of the end done๐Ÿ˜

March 5, 2018

Hello Friends and Family! ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
I will continue being with Sister Spangler for the next while. My old compy, Sister Ganir, is going home! Wow! I remember being with her at her halfway mark. This week Shannon came to church again and is starting to develop a relationship with the ward. Nancy and Al didn't make it to church, but their testimonies are growing stronger! We found a few part member families we might be able to start teaching. Our ward mission leader is excited to empower the members to invite others to learn more about the gospel of Jesus Christ. We moved the Sister Training Leaders to a new apartment with the district. It alwayd makes me feel awesome to do adult things with my friends, because it's like wow, we are really cool, we can do competent things ๐Ÿ˜‚ we can 'adult'. The flowers are blooming here, it makes Missy's garden so pretty. Her cats are also cute.

Letter #56 - "Would you like a picture of Jesus?" "Yes ma'am, I'll take two" ๐Ÿ˜…

February 26, 2018

Last Week

Hello!
This week we handed out a lot of pictures of Jesus and coupons for free bibles! Lake City had an Olustee festival and we got to meet a few people. Al has started reading the book of Mormon and he says he wants to learn more! We helped Ralph start his family history and we are going to take him to the family history center and put it together online. Nancy has started to come to church regularly with her grandkids. She is super involved in gospel principles class and learning a lot ๐Ÿ˜

This week
We set two baptism dates with Nancy and Al. Neither of them were able to go to church this week, but Shannon came and she loved it ๐Ÿ˜ Sister Spangler got her hair done last Monday and it looks nice! This week we will have transfer calls and we will find out if we stay together or change ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Missy taught gospel principles for the first time and she did a perfect job! Things are moving along here smoothly. Our next zone conference will be attended by a general authority and he will be taking a tour of the mission... We are excited to see how the work progresses in the coming months! I got a package from the activity day girls from home and it made my day ๐Ÿ˜Š

Letter #55 - KCs Produce Tradeoff ×2

February 12, 2018

This week we had ZOCO and tradeoffs! I was with Sister Mann again, except we stayed in my area. We met a man named Don, he wasn't that interested at first, but we asked more about his favorite preacher and he ended up opening up a lot more! ๐Ÿ˜Š Missy went to the temple for the first time and she loved it! Sister Mann found a cat while proselyting and NAMED IT FRECKLES in about 2 seconds ๐Ÿ˜‚ we saw horses while driving in the outer parts of town and we drove by them a couple times they were free ranging on the streets and around the houses. They were rugged looking and galloped past the car. We talked about family history and the book of Mormon in zone conference. I drove from lake city to Jacksonville for the first time and it went well! From all the different driving I have done in my mission, I feel like an experienced driver! I sure have improved a lot. We have been reading the book of Mormon on the phone with Shannon most days. She loves reading it, we hope to get her to church soon! Nancy came to church this week, and her 4 grandkids. A girl from our ward had a baby shower and she is younger than me ๐Ÿ˜… We hope to see many more amazing things this week.

Letter #54 - We Literally are full time missionaries ๐Ÿ™‹‍♀️

February 5, 2018

Hello Family and Friends,

This week we got a bible referral (shannon) and she accepted a book of Mormon as well! Last night she wasn't feeling well and we asked her if we could read the scriptures with her, we ended up not being able to go to her house, but she said we could call her because she "wouldn't deny Jesus" ๐Ÿ˜ we read the introduction with her and when we asked her thoughts, she totally got it! Shannon is ready to change her life and we are so happy for her.

We message our investigators on Facebook all the time and it's really so fun, because that's the kind of thing I love doing. It really helps us connect with them and it's easier to retain them and resolve concerns when we reach out everyday.

Alma 44:5
And now, Zerahemnah, I command you, in the name of that all-powerful God, who has strengthened our arms that we have gained power over you, by our faith, by our religion, and by our rites of worship, and by our church, and by the sacred support which we owe to our wives and our children, by that liberty which binds us to our lands and our country; yea, and also by the maintenance of the sacred word of God, to which we owe all our happiness; and by all that is most dear unto us-
