Letter #22 -1 Year Left!!!! and more.....

May 29, 2017

Hello family and friends!

It has been another great week. Today marks one year left, meaning next year this day I'll be heading home! Yeah! In this area we are driving one of the new mission cars, the 2017 Chevy Malibu. You dont put the key in its transmission, it has its own wifi hospot. Unfortunately, the church wont pay for the wifi, so after the free trial was up, it didnt work anymoreπŸ˜…πŸ˜… It's a fun ride. Tyresa and John came to church this week, they really enjoyed it. Probably because I spoke in sacrament meeting πŸ˜‰The Flemming Elders and Sisters all spoke to the congregation. I discussed blessings God promises when we build of his kingdom, and details surrounding that.
This week we had zone conference. The spirit was incredibly powerful as President Lee bore his testimony of missionary work and the atonement. He also showed clips of Elder Holland and President Eyring sharing similar thoughts. I wish the whole world was there. The ward mission leader Brother Rivera is very excited about his calling, which will bless the ward so much! His dedication will help the ward council really strengthen the members and bring many miracles to the area. 😸😸😸
My belief in priesthood authority has strengthened a lot while on my mission. Also Joseph Smith. We met with an investigator, Alexi, who has many similar beliefs but doesn't get the restoration part at all. 😬😬
It's getting pretty hot here. When we knock on people's doors, they sometimes offer us water. People here definitely don't have an issue with talking, which can make it a little hard to share our messages. My favorite video right now is part of the mormon messages for youth called "staying spiritually fit" The EFY songs are pretty fun too. πŸ™„πŸ™„
Last Monday we were on the way to Walmart and it rained so hard we couldn't see outside our car! For about 20 minutes it rained very hard. That is a common thing here.
OK so I wrote stuff in my journal, but I forgot it, so sorry this is about it. Love ya'll!

Letter #21 -Amazing adventures + πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜πŸ˜‡πŸ˜Έ

May 22, 2017

Hello Family and Friends!

Its been another wonderfull week....in Florida!!! This week I was transfered from Georgia to Flemming Islands, Florida! It is a really nice place here, very beautiful. Yet, there are still people to teach the gospel. The spirit will testify to anyone with a willing heart that there is peace when we live the gospel of Jesus Christ. My new companion is Sister Ganir, she is a hard worker and knows the area well.  We had a ward activity, the young women held an auction to raise money for girls camp. They sold desserts such as oreo pie, oreo truffles, heath cake, reeeses cake, orange rolls, and other things. They also had a dinner before, and for the first time I ate jalpeno corn bread! There was also a lot of fried chicken πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I have met a lot of the members already, but still have to remember who they are. In my district here there are another set of sisters, (when in my district in Georgia, it was only my companion and I) There are also two sets of Elders. We found a lot of new investigators this week, including a family who has investigated before. They said they are open to anything right now. They have not yet prayed about and found a testimony of the Book of Mormon, which is really important for them to further progress in this gospel. We hope we can help them with that as we read it with them and teach them how to pray.

Last night we visited a less active member of the ward. She is a sweet, old french lady. She is married to her 5th husband and is very poor. She has her own paintings all over her walls and other art as well. She shared some stories about her past husbands and her weight loss experience. She walked us out to our car, because my companion was worried about another person who was in the area seeing us.

One of the youth members has a friend named Savannah, who wants to be baptized! She goes to seminary and has gone to several church activites in the past. We hope her parents approve so we can help her get to baptism as soon as possible!

1 Nephi 17:36 "Behold the Lord created the earth that it should be inhabited; and he hath created his children that they should possess it."

Letter #20 -Transfers, Mothers Day, and I'm going to Florida!

May 15, 2017

Hello Family and Friends!

Many important and exciting things happened this past week!

1. The FJM Missionaries sang at the Brad Wilcox devotional in Jacksonville, and Brother
Wilcox gave an amazing talk about Grace and Eternal Salvation. He told us that YES, we
are indeed saved by grace, but that our understanding of Eternal Salvation is what is
different from most others. While many hope they are on the good side of God, but never
change and accept the power of the atonement of Jesus Christ in their lives. Meanwhile
we are accepting the atonement to help us CHANGE and eventually become heavenly
beings like our Heavenly Father so we canenjoy all that He has! How amazing to know that
all things are possible through Christ.

2. Transfer calls happened and I'm leaving my first area and going to Flemming Islands in
Florida! At first I was told I would be going to Macclenny, but this morning I was called and
told I was going to Fleming Islands instead! I'm so excited to see what new adventures
are waiting for me there. Bye bye, Brunswick, GA....Bye Sister Williams :(

3. Random rainstorms! The air gets really wet right before it rains and then it just POURS.
Fun. but not as fun when you are trying to share the gospel, haha.

4. MOTHERS DAY :) I was able to skype my family and say hi to them! They are still the
same people as 5 months ago, I still love my mom ;)

Our Investigator, Tayvin, came to church Sunday, and then he came bowling with us
missionaries today and some members as well! We hope he will keep moving forward and
truly find a testimony!

I'll try to take more pictures...

Letter #19 - HELLOOO

May 8, 2017

Hello Everyone!

Sorry for no weekly last week, p-days are actually insane! Today we had zone p-day and all met in Nahunta, which is nowhere and the sun beat on us, but I am getting more of a tan than i even had in my life (on my arms ;) We bbq'd hamburgers and hotdogs. Its fun to talk and spend time with the other missionaries.
I dont think Isaiah chapters are something to complain about. I agree they are a little harder to read, but after a few days of reading it over and over, its comes together and you really gain a better perspective of what the Lord has in mind for us. Its crazy how everything starts to make more sense after becoming a missionary. There is a lot of "deep" doctrine right in your face in the Book of Mormon, people just pass by it though, because they dont easily understand it. But its right there people!
The missionaries are singing at a Brad Wilcox devotional on friday. On saturday we will have transfer calls, and on Sunday we get to skype our families :) for mothers day. Fun week this week.
Last week I had trade offs and I went with Sister Warr to Lake Butler for a day. We saw a few people. For one lesson we sat with a bunch of old guys on their porch in the evening while they were drinking beer, grilling fish, and asking us about why our church is true as opposed to theirs. Its funny because without the spirit of God, why would we ever put ourselves in that position? The gospel of Jesus Christ and his atonement IS real. But you have to be seeking and searching for truth to know.
