Letter #48 - 3,2,1 π²πππ€£
December 18, 2017
Well,
I had a trio for about two days! Then Sister Hill was emergency transfered to train a new missionary π² So it's just me and Sister Esquerra now. She is awesome and has a lot of similarities to me. People in Lake City are pretty neat. They have the coolest hair I've seen in Floridaπ€£ We went shopping with the Sister Training Leaders at a store called Five Below! Everything in the store is $5 or less and it has really fun stuff in itπ I had Sister Spangler for a few days in Mandarin because her companion completed her mission! It was so fun to have to great companions for a bit. This Sunday I gave a talk in sacrament meeting. I had a really short notice, but it went well π I hit my year Mark, I've been a missionary for a whole year! We have some amazing recent converts and investigators, and the members are willing to help. I got some fun fox socks from Sister Hill for Christmas and they are the most comfortable socks I've ever had. Jesse's dog has a dread in his fur π My older sister is entering in her LAST transfer this week and will go home in Feburary, it's so exciting! I'll have another p-day on Saturday, and probably not next week. Hope y'all have a fantastic time!

Letter #47 - I'm going to Price Creek!
December 11, 2017
Hello Everyone! I'm being transferred to Price Creek! Also, I'm going to be in a trio πππ That will be an interesting experience. I hear it is doing really well right now with investigators and baptisms right now. I'm going to be with Sister Esquerra and Sister Hill. I'm going to miss the Mandarin District, but it looks like there are good things to come. The Christmas Party was fun. We had skits and sang hymns. We met an AMAZING couple! The wife asked a lot of questions and then said that she agreed with our beliefsππ they loved the lesson.
We were on a turn that was U-turn ONLY! ππ We got our zone t-shirt "Mandarin Watch- Saving Souls!" I'm having lots of fun with the missionaries. Getting cold here for some reason! π₯

Letter #46 - Christmas! Is good
December 4, 2017
Hello Family and Friends!
This week has been a great kickoff to the Christmas season! #lighttheworld has started. We have shared the video many times and it has gone well. We watched the Christmas Devotional with sister Hamilton and Maria, a recent convert! Today (p-day) we had a white elephant exchange, we made a big breakfast for the zone. We got 3 refferals this week, which is amazing. We are so excited to meet them. 2-day MLC happened this week. The STLs and Zone leaders were trained on some awesome, fresh ways to approach missionary work. I'm 21 now, yay! There is going to be more Christmas parties this week, the mission one and the ward one. We got to help out an investigators family move this week, it was so much fun. Transfer Calls are also this week, so we will find out if there are any changes before christmas! December 1st and I heard Yesterday was snowing somewhere in Florida, so I guess there is no say in the weather here πππ
Mosiah 15:9
Having ascended into heaven, having the bowels of mercy; being filled with compassion towards the children of men; standing betwixt them and justice; having broken the bands of death, taken upon himself their iniquity and their transgressions, having redeemed them, and satisfied the demands of justice.

Letter #45 - So is it spring? ππππ
November 27, 2017
Hello Everyone!
It's been another week, we had the most amazing thanksgiving dinner! With the Franklin's. They recently moved in, but have been in the ward beforeπ€ Sister Franklin homemade most of the food and I are the most amazing Stawberry Rhubarb Pie ever! We set up a little Christmas tree we found in the closet. Today our zone is going to get together and practice our skit for the Missionary Christmas Devotional π¬π¬π¬π¬ #lighttheworld has officially kicked off and the resources are available on mormon.org or the gospel library app! This is seriously for everyone, not just LDS folk! Every time I watch the video, it gives, me chills πΉ we went to Publix, and they have free recipes there, so I just grabbed a few, hopefully try them someday, lol. We have been getting more dinners, it's almost always so much fun to get to know the members moreπ so, low key my birthday is on Sunday, the big 21. I'm approaching being out here almost a year in 2.5 weeksπΈ Thought I would never get this far. I know I have been blessed so much, and each new day is a mystery waiting to be discovered! This week is a 2 day PLC, the Stls from another area are going to stay over and train us on what they learned the first day, yay! We are slowly getting more clarification about new missionary testing stuff.
We actually had tradeoffs this week and I got to tradeoff with Sister Williams! It was the best tradeoff ever on the mission. I went to Hendricks with her and we got to teach the people they are working with. Also ended up at the mission office to help some sisters get home from their temple tripπ
Have a great week!

Letter #44 - π΄♀️π΄♀️π΄♀️, USA Devo, Member Visits
November 20, 2017
Hello Family and Friends,
This has been another interesting week. Sister Kirkham and I have been making it a point to visit every member on our roster, which could take us an indefinite amount of time. Our stake has been working on cleaning records of people who have moved and getting them to the right place. We have been finding a lot of people have moved. Our miracle was when we met a girl who was on the list. She was married to a non member who has previously agreed to take the discussions! We will have our first lesson with the family tonight and see if we can't bring this family back to church! π
Last night the missionaries were allowed to watch the face to face YSA devotional. It was aired from the LOGAN UTAH INSTITUTE, WHAATAπ¬π¬π¬π¬ K, So I'm a little mad, because thats where I would have been, but I'll survive. Elder Oaks and Elder Ballard shared a lot of insights that would strengthen the young adults of our day, they helped answer a lot of questions we are having right now. Go back and watch it if you haven't! ππππ
One of the things they really got riled over was putting down our phones and talking to each other if we want to get married πππ Also actually going on dates and not just "hanging out" π€
The most important thing they testified of was our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He can help us with any difficulty.
We have been biking a lot this week....ππππππππ-->>>π΄♀️π΄♀️π΄♀️π΄♀️π΄♀️π΄♀️
This week is thanksgiving, and then #lighttheworld will kick off! Don't forget to participate in this amazing initiative π
This week we ate with a family who had recently come from Uraguay. Only the dad could really speak English, the rest was a lot of Portuguese. They gave me a cow rib instead of the regular pork rib to try. Love y'all,
Sister Prue

Letter #43 - FJM= faith to find, joyful attitude ,mighty miracles
November 13. 2017
We had zone conference this week, and it didn't go how I expected it to, but it was still good! The Florida Jacksonville Mission (FJM) is 1/12 pilot missions in the world experiencing some extra special changes in missionary work! Some of it has been laid out, but I believe there is more training yet to come π The church is going to implement all missionary resources in our area and that will include more Refferals, adjustments in finding and teaching, and better member involvement.
1. We are going to teach based off needs, questions, and concerns people have about the gospel of Jesus Christ and focus on helping them connect to the Godhead through prayer, scriptures, and church.
2. The church is putting in more resources to help people who are truly seeking to find the missionaries through referrals.
3. We will create member teams around investigators to help answer questions, feel loved, and protect them from things that would discourage them from learning more about the church.
4. We are using Facebook as an opportunity to stay in constant contact with investigators and help them answer questions.
5. We are making goal setting and proper planing a continuous part of our missionary work that happens throughout the day.
There are some amazing opportunities that involve you as well.
1. On November 25, the church's Christmas initiative #lighttheworld will kick off! Last year this was the most successful initiative the church has ever put out π€
It will be featured on mormon.org with a new video everyday.
2. On your LDS tools app, you can send a referral and know exactly when the missionaries have contacted them and even follow up with the missionaries! You don't have to go through the mormon.org refferal system!
I know my Heavenly Father loves me and he loves you too!

Letter #42 - #trickleintoaflood
November 6, 2017
Family and Friends,
This week has been an adventure! Due to missionaries going home, we housed sister Ridenour a few days before transfers. She had gift cards to Carrabas Italian Grill, so we went there and ate good πππ Then I got transferred to Mandarin 1st ward, and now I'm with Sister Kirkham! The funny thing about this area is that Mandarin is in the Jax East zone, but the Jax South stake! (Usually the zones and stakes are alligned) So we went to Jax South stake conference and Elder Kim B Clark spoke to the stake. He shared some really good council that will really prepare the people here for the new changes happening in the church.
Lee Donaldson has visited our area and is telling us about AMAZING changes that will happen in missionary work! We will have a zone conference for it this coming week. These changes will help us reach those who really are searching for more truth, and have not found it yet.
We have eaten at Panera few times this week, hahaha.
As we teach truths today people are asking:
1. What is the meaning or purpose of my life?
2. What happens after death?
3. Will I be with people I love after this life?
4. What is peace? How do I find it?
These truths start to come as we connect our friends to Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost through prayer, the scriptures(book of mormon), and church attendance.

Letter #41 - Temple, Transfers, Lizards
October 30, 2017
I got to go to the Temple in Orlando! I went down with Elder and Sister Fershtut and my MTC companion, Sister Knight π It was well, and a spiritual experience. After we finished the session, we went to Panera and said goodbye to the Bookers, an elderly missionary couple who are going home. This week I succeeded in having a lizard hanging on my ear. My companion said I was now initiated into the FJM.
I'M GETTING TRANSFERRED. I'm going to the Mandarin area, 1st ward. I'll be in the same district as the assistants to the president. My STL is one of my former companions, Sister Williams! We got along, so it's fun to be close again πππ Something President Lee is doing to help us find more investigators is to have a car fast 1 day a week, so we have to walk or bike. This is definitely going to be a blessing to the mission, as we find more opportunities to talk to everyone. I get to be companions with Sister Kirkham, it will be a wonderful transfer!
Believe it or not, it's getting very cold outside all of a sudden, I already miss the summer time!
The church is continuing to change the way things are done, but not the doctrine we live by. These changes are going to provide more opportunities to lift where we stand and strengthen those around us.

Letter #40 - I Love the FJM
October 23, 2017
This week I saw many of my former companions which was super exciting! We went to a devotional in which the missionaries sang. We had a blitz in our area with our district and found a few investigators in just an hour :) this week I go to the temple, yay! I tried to pick up the tail of a lizard so I could put it on my ear, but it just popped off and the lizard ran away. I didn't know that would happen!ππ A member brought her friend to church, it was so awesome, we might teach her soon.
The bar has been raised again on prospective missionaries. The standards have been posted on LDS.org stake presidents will now have set questions for prospective missionaries and other opportunities to serve are being emphasized. Once a month 3rd hour meetings will be council meetings to a dress needs in the local ward/community. It's cooler about 10 degrees some days and then it's right back up π well I can't think of anything else. Love y'all.

Letter #39 - Another week in FJM
October 16, 2017
Another week comes and goes. Today for zone p-day we carved pumpkins! I cut a spider into mine. Sister Anderson drew eyeliner on hers. I get to go to the temple in 10 days. Halloween is coming around, we made ghost cookies and ate them during weekly planning. It is still warm, but there was a bit of fog a few mornings. I ate candy corn too today :) we found a new investigator, apparently he has read about half of the book of Mormon before and he said yes to our baptism invite! K. Love y'all, keep in touch,

Letter #38 - Loco Zoco
October 9, 2017
Hello Family and Friends!
This week has been a bit adventurous. We had zone conference and trained us for online proselyting. Now we are actively using Facebook to share the gospel π we also now have smartphones, we are almost like normal people! ππ€£ then we went on trade offs with the stls. I was with sister Pereira for the third time in a row! We stayed in middleburg. That night a member asked us if we could answer some of her friend's questions and we used Facebook video chat to teach the lesson. It was so cool to use it right away for a lesson. We are excited all the ways that Facebook will allow us to share the gospel. Something new I ate this week was born nuggets aka deep fried corn balls. We has district p-day, we played this game called psychiatrist, kinda like someone guesses the pattern everyone else is doing. We had a good fast Sunday and we were getting referrals of people to teach. It is still in the 90s here, really hot and humid! We hear about hurricane that come and go, but no new real threats. Hope y'all have a great week.

Letter #37 - Trickle into FLOOD!
October 2, 2017
Hello Family and Friends,
It has been another week of missionary life. The biggest thing that happened was General conference, where the apostles and other General authorities speak on how we can increase our faith in Jesus Christ. That really seemed to be the especial theme this weekend was serving others and becoming more Christlike. The reason that we even reach out to others and TRY to be good people is because Jesus Christ can and does redeem us from our sins. As we allow HIM to strengthen us through the power of his atonement, can we make the necessary changes to be clean and worthy to enter into the presence of God. We know that Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father are separate beings. We worship the Father for his greatness and perfect plan of happiness. We thank him for the gift of his only begotten son who gives us hope in a grief stricken world. There are many disasters lately, but these disasters allow us to share the love of Jesus Christ to those whose hearts are softened. We know through study, prayer, that we can receive a confirmation that these things we learn are true. We receive opportunities for our testimony to strengthen and our natures to be changed as we share this good news with others. This is not the end, but "now is the time to prepare to meet God."

Letter #36 - Online Proselyting Mission
September 25, 2017
One of the newest and most exciting things happening right now is that the FJM is now doing online proselyting! This includes using Facebook as a tool for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ! As family and friends you are welcome to follow my teaching efforts on Facebook (Or if you wanna get baptized OR you want to help teaching my investigators- I get permission on a case by case basis) We don't officially start until Oct 4 after my zone conference/ training for it. All companionships in the mission will also get a galaxy smartphone, which is a BIG improvement to the phone we have nowπππ Our Efforts will still be focused in our own area, so I will still mostly be teaching people in my own area.
There is going to be a lot of freedom with our online use, but also a lot of responsibility!
Last week: I got a new haircut
I got a new companion, Sister Anderson, she is awesome and beautiful. Don't have a pic with her yet.
Women's General conference was good
WATCH GENERAL CONFERENCE THIS WEEKEND, SAT AND SUN GO ON LDS.ORG
We have been trying to track down a lot of Less Active members, they are hiding for us...
Well there was and still is a lot of cleanup from Irma, a lot of fallen trees, so that's how it is.

After the Storm
September 13, 2017
Hi, President Lee gave us permission to write you and tell you I am safe and well. I survived the Hurricane, yay! Things are almost pretty much back to normal. We still don't have electric in our apartment because of trees falling on power lines (trees don't have strong roots here like idaho), but we are the only companionship in the stake who doesn't. It should come back in a day or two. So we spent the night at bishops :) It wasn't bad at all by the time it got to our area. Just a little rain and wind. Love you, hope you are having a great day!

Letter #35 - All is going well ✋πππΊππ- missionaries in Hurricane Irma
September 9, 2017
Hello Family and Friends!
Today is our p-day instead of Monday, since Irma will be passing through that day. We have two sister missionaries currently with us right now, but I assure you all is safe and well. The church keeps us well taken care of! We have had some wonderful miracles this week, including coming in contact with a less active, part member family who is ready to come back to church! They said they love feeding the missionaries before they moved here, and they want to take the lessons again. What a miracle!
We had interviews this week and President Lee said he saw a picture of me and my companion on the internet, so I guess he looks for them πππ¦π¦ Please help missionaries stay dignified by only posting proper pictures please. PS He really enjoyed the picture he saw of me and my companion, we were hugging and he really liked that we were getting along.
So we are also with Sister McConnell and Sistter Allgaier, they were evacuated to us from St Augustine Shores area. We were walking into the church today(to send emails), and we accidently walked in 5 mins before a baptism was starting, so we went to a baptism today, haha. Thoughts being Heavenly Father puts you where you are meant to be, even if you don't know why. I know he has guided my life and i have been very blessed by it. Even though I don't always understand why things happen a certain way. When you get answers to your prayers LISTEN and follow your prompting(s). Love you all. This week is going to be another great week.
This week I was reading the end of Mosiah and learning the pattern of faith building and blessings.
1. Promise/ convenant from God
2. Instructions to live by from Him
3. Trial
3.5 living by the instructions given from God to overcome trial with his help.
4. Trial is lifted+ blessings

Letter #34 - Mike's Baptism
September 4, 2017
Hello Family and Friends!
This week Mike got baptised, it went well and was so exciting for him! We set a tentative date for Ariana to get baptized, but there are many activites going on, so we arent positive when it will be yet. General Conference is coming up soon, get your questions and pens ready! I made a paper chain to my 9 months left mark, but it isnt until next month :) We are coming in the thick of hurricane season, so they may or may not come to our mission, but I am in the safe part of Florida, so no worries really.
I know that Jesus Christ is truly our savior and can his atonement can and will change our lives as we come closer to him. I know following his example will bring us back to our Heavenly Father. I know that Joseph Smith was really a prophet of God and truly saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know the church is organized by Christ and is the only church with God's priesthood authority. I say these things in Jesus' name, amen.

Letter #33 - New things are always here
August 30, 2017

Hello Family and Friends!
This week was the first time I saw lightning bugs! It was pretty cool and unexpected, I didnt know they had them here :) Everyone here drinks Crystal Light, almost every dinner we had, they offered us some, lol. We had another amazing Zone Conference featuring Elder Brent Nielson, and Elder Godoy. We talked about the atonement and he shared with us about the upcoming technology efforts the church is putting forward to help us do missionary work better. I am very excited to see what these new changes will bring.
We were talking with a member who didnt understand the power of the atonement of Jesus Christ. She shared some of her transgressions with us, but didnt know that they could be forgiven of and she could be clean from them. There are many people in the world that wish they could be forgiven and made clean from their mistakes. They do not know of the redeeming and enabling powers of Jesus Christ's atonement. Many people ask "Have you been saved by Grace?" Yes, I have. With a proper understanding of the atonement, we may also ask "Have you been changed by grace?"
As we share the gospel, or the good news, we can spread joy and actually obtain peace within ourselves and peace on earth.
We had a nice baptism for Autym, and this saturday we will have a baptism service for Mike. Nita came to Autym's baptism, and she said she felt the spirit there! YES!

Letter #32 - It's a long ride
August 21, 2017
Hello Family and Friends,
First of all, Shout out to mom, HAPPY BIRTHDAY :)
The next couple of weeks we are looking forward to a few baptisms happening. The Lord is truly blessing us at this time to help prepare these people to make covenants with God. Yesterday, we had a church tour with Corey. He is nervous about coming to church, but he is so excited about living the gospel. We found out he was living the word of wisdom after we taught it to him, he gave up some really hard things by his own choice!
There was some confusion about when certian sisters are going home, the final answer I got was July 10, so I guess im a misssionary for an extra transfer than expected, (which makes it a normal amount of time, because I thought I was leaving a transfer early.)
A week from today will be zone conference with Elder Nielsen, I am very excited. So my next p-day will not be until wednesday.
We met with this member this week who used to be a model and a wife to a millionaire. We were trying to help her pick out an outfit for church, and she picked one out and sat with us this sunday. It has been raining and thundering a lot lately. It shakes our apartment a little bit. Yesterday we were finding and we saw two cute dalmation puppies! It totally made my day!
Okay, So thats what it is for now. Hope you all are having amazing day. To Be Continued....

Letter #31 - It's been a good week
August 14, 2017
Dear Family and Friends!
It has been another great week with Sister Spangler in Middleburg. We are teaching Brother Kinder who has been "active" in the church for years, but never baptized. He is on date for the begining of September :) we are finding a lot of overaged youth to teach and bring to the waters of baptism. We have a lot of investigators coming to church. We are finding new people to teach, not too much time to knock doors :D This makes me really happy.
On Saturday, there was a funeral for one of our members who had cancer. She was well known and liked. We are teaching some of her family members now, who were inspired by how she lived her life.
In two weeks my p-day will be on wednesday (August 30, 2017) because Elder Brent Nielsen from the Missionary department will be touring our mission!!!! We will have a zone conference with him there. We have to be looking our best, and there are going to be random apartment inspections :O
There has been continued rain here. Today I have been a missionary for 8 months. By the end of the transfer, it will all be downhill :) I know this gospel is true, It is amazing to see the light that comes into people's eyes when they accept the gospel.
Service is so important in God's plan. We serve our ancestors by doing their temple work. We can serve the people we home teach and visit teach. I have gained a testimony of visiting teaching the wonders it can do as we serve- spiritually, and temporally edifying those we oversee. I know the early saints and prophets gave up their whole lives to share the gospel and allow them to experience the joy it brings. I Know Joseph Smith truly did see Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. I know he is a true prophet of God. We can help in so many ways, and going on a mission has helped me know those many ways.
Until next time.....

Letter #30 - Transfers!π€£ππ+ What does humility mean?
August 7, 2017
Hello Family and Friends!
This week I had transfer calls, Wahoo! I am now serving in Middleburg, FL with my new lovely comp, Sister Spangler! She is amazing and We've already had the chance to serve an amazing week together. Even though Middleburg sits right next to Fleming Island, it is definitely country with many dirt roads. There are so many opportunites for baptisms to be happening soon and a lot coming~ Right now we are in august, but I'd have to say, personally the heat and humidity has been bearable. I really like the heat, but the humidity is so different. You dont really get that "fresh air" experience, haha. One of our members is dying from cancer, which is really sad. We visit and read scriptures to her every day. One blessing, however, is the impact she has had on her family. Through this experience, we expect to see many of her family members gain a testimony (and be baptized) and inactive members come back. She is truly invested in the Lord's work.
My trainer, Sister Elwell, just went to her temple trip last week, congrats!
Sister Williams was called to be a STL, whhhaaattttttt?!?!?!
Sister Ganir is whitewashing an area with her new comp.
From PMG pg 120 "Humility is willingness to submit to the will of the Lord and to give the Lord the honor for what is accomplished" When we are humble, we find more joy and blessing. We understand the sacrifices we make are small compared to the blessings you recieve. To be damned means you are unable to further your progression after this life.
I know this gospel is true and will bless your life as you seek for truth. Our Heavenly Father loves us, and Jesus Christ has truly paid for our sins, so that we can become someone our Father is proud of. Anything is possible with the gospel.
This is the best I can do this week, love y'all!

Letter #29 - From the other eyes πππππ✋
July 31, 2017
This is from sister Ganirs weekly, she worked very hard writing this, so I hope you enjoy πππ
The funny moments:
1. I thought sister Prue needed some motivation at 8:30pm to keep on going, so I told her we only had five minutes before we got to go home. She was excited!.....for five minutes...and then she realized it wasn't close to nine, our curfew.
2. We knocked a door, a nice lady answered and began to talk with us. She shared she was very faithful in her beliefs and then said, "wow you two are so beautiful, so gorgeous! Really two beautiful ladies." Sister Prue then said, "thank you ma'am, you have a really beautiful dog."
3. We were contacting a former who I had met before, but Sister Prue hadn't. I told her she would have to lock her heart big time because this guy was very handsome. When he answered, he said he had to go put a shirt on and when he closed the door, sister Prue said, "um, did you think I would have to lock my heart for him? We will talk about this later." He's a very great guy and I love him, he just has very bad personal hygiene and I wanted to tease Sister Prue. I'm sure sister Prue will get me back soon.
4. We forgot to lock our car at an apartment complex. And when we came back to our car, we found that our car had been pranked by the Elders. They covered our car in notes and they put a tie on our rear view mirror.
5. Sister Prue teases me and tells everyone my weird quirk: I bake cookies in the oven one at a time.
6. We biked through a swarm of bugs so thick that I had to stop and just breathe without bugs flying in my mouth. I look over at sister Prue and she is just closing her eyes and mouth, and waving her hands all over and she yells, "c'mon we have to keep going!" I started laughing so hard because we thought we might not make it, the bugs were just so bad.
πEnd of sister Ganirs silliness
SPIRITUAL THOUGHTS FROM OTHER FRIENDS
1. "A scripture that has been on my mind is Mosiah 2:41:
And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it.
The key to happiness is literally written out for us. Such a good promise. I know that this is true. True lasting happiness is founded upon living the commandments. "
2. 46 O my son, do not let us be slothful because of the easiness of the way; for so was it with our fathers; for so was it prepared for them, that if they would look they might live; even so it is with us. The way is prepared, and if we will look we may live forever. (Alma 37)
47 And now, my son, see that ye take care of these sacred things, yea, see that ye look to God and live. Go unto this people and declare the word, and be sober. My son, farewell. (Alma 37)
63 Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you; seek me diligently and ye shall find me; ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. (D&C 88)
62 And again, verily I say unto you, my friends, I leave these sayings with you to ponder in your hearts, with this commandment which I give unto you, that ye shall call upon me while I am near-- (D&C 88)
18 Ask the Father in my name in faith, believing that you shall receive, and you shall have the Holy Ghost, which manifesteth all things which are expedient unto the children of men. (D&C 18)

Letter #28 - I'm Alive πΈπΈπ
July 17, 2017
This week we had zone conference, with many ideas and methods to be better missionaries. Everything that is taught actually stems from the preach my gospel book. Which is how it should be, but also from current teachings of the apostles. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. Many people think living by the commandments is restricting, but it actually opens up endless possibilites for your potential. I have seen this in my own life.
Marie and Eileen are continuing to see how the gospel can bless their life. 1st ward is getting more and more involved helping them. We are continuing to find more people to teach, including a family.
Today is zone p-day, we are having a lot of fun with the other missionaries. Including volleyball, which is a lot of fun. Things are going well. I am constantly learning. Hope to share more soon,
Love, Sister Prue

Letter #27 - 1.5 weeks update and still no pictures πππ
July 10, 2017
Dear Family and Friends,
July 3, 2017
This week I was picking up a frog and it peed on me!! Last Monday we went to target, and I remembered who I am (a basic white girl) π§π§ I bought some cute letters to write on.
July 10, 2017
Well, I didnt get to finishing last week, sorry! This week some missionaries in my district spearheaded an amazing devotional about Jesus Christ, which brought the spirit so strong. President and Sister Lee came to it, and also an investigator we met the night before! Amazing! We set a baptism date for Marie for the end of this month, we hope we can help her prepare for it by that time. 6 months ago today I was leaving the MTC with my fellow missionaries and going to Florida entering the Field! We have been meeting a lot of new people who want to investigate the gospel and the church. I love teaching people the Gospel, and teaching lessons. We have zone conference this week, and I love those, the spirit is always so strong and it makes you feel like you can go out and share the gospel with anyone and it will go perfectly and easily. (The spirit makes you a lot braver, lol). Tonight and tomorrow I will go on trade off with the sister training leaders, I am staying in this area again.
I have been reading the book of mormon all my life and of course i get sent to the bible belt :) I wish I was more knowledgeable with the bible, but I know enough with the Gift of the Holy Ghost, the spirit can guide me to share truths and testify to the most knowledgeable scholar of the bible and I wont be afraid. "Faith and Fear cannot coexsist" (and so spirit+gospel library+other missionaries=success)
4th of July We had district meeting in the morning, and then lunch and went out and sang 'my country tis of thee' to people we met on the street and we found a refferal to send to other missionaries. Us and the elders ate at Sister Sperrys house and she can crochet anything, she will make me a plushie of my choice, but i dont know what i want yet....

Outside it is storming right now and we looked out and saw our car in the rain and said "now thats what I call a power washer!" haha.
Lastly, i read Daniel 1-3 for an ivestigator. It was insightful and I invite yall to read it too.

PS I know that Jesus Christ is my savior. Also, Temple President confirmed more obedience and prayers= hotter husband/wife ππππ¨π©π§π¦ π

Letter #26 - πΎπ΄♀️π―π―π¬ππ Transfer Calls!
June 26, 2017
It has been another wonderful week with many exciting things :)
Starting with last monday night we met with some referrals from a member in another ward. They are two women Marie and Eileen. They are SO READY for the gospel! They have been keeping their commitments, asking questions, and sincerely do what they can to learn what we share. We have been bringing members every time and I can feel that they will get baptized and find the JOY and PEACE the gospel brings! Somehow it has been working out perfectly, so much fun! We have been teaching more lessons and more people to teach in general, so i really like that. π¦
Sister Ganir got to go to the temple last thursday for her halfway mark, so I spent the day with Sister Spangler! She is a lot of fun, she is in my district. It has gotten very hot this last week. We have been biking some too, so it has been a bit physically exhausting, but that does not stop us, it just helps us sleep better.
Saturday Night was transfer calls, Sister Ganir and I are staying here in Fleming Island, yay! We will have a great time here, and find someone to baptize. For those of you who know Elder Reeser from my hometown, he will be my Zone Leader.
Sunday night was a GENESIS concert (gospel interfaith singing) Those people who sang BELTED and it was kinda overwhelming but it was a lot of fun to see all the missionaries who were there, love them! Saw Sister Elwell there. As missionaries, we sang "called to serve" and "one by one" A sister (member) took us to the concert and shared that she was on her fourth marriage, and the person who she was married to, it was his fourth too. She said that they were in fact High School sweethearts, and he was her first kiss! Funny how that they eventually came back together in the end. She shared important advice to never beg or chase after someone, if they want to stay in your life, they will, and if they don't, you cant stop them. Sister Ganir and I were talking about the mission, companionships, and eternal marriage after she got back from the temple. I have gained a stronger testimony that I want someone who loves God too and that I can be sealed in the temple with. It is very important that Heavenly Father is involved in all important decisions, because he can guide us to the most joy. π¨π©π§π¦
I saw John 8:32 this week, idk if I have ever seen it before, but its funny because it sounds so 2000's
32. "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

Letter #25 - Missionaries in the Flemingburg SQUAD!!!
June 19, 2017
Hello Family and Friends!!
(A
This week was stake conference! President and Sister Lee, the Orlando temple president and his wife and the stake patriarch were there. Those are pretty cool people, Im proud to say that President Lee bore a powerful testimony. On Saturday, the elders gave our investigator Teresa (because she has been sick) a blessing. It was a good experience for her, I know how helpful blessings can be. It has been raining a lot here! We have been trying to plan a district golf p-day, but the rain is foiling our plans! π¬π¬π¬ Haha, oh well.
Personally, one of my favorite parts of missionary work is the other missionaries! They are so much fun. I was thinking about these awesome people, and I thought "well the best squad i've ever been in is a missionary squad"
Gabriel came to stake conference, this is a great milestone for him. We have been biking this week, and its actually really fun, its great exercise and makes you feel good.
There is so much to learn in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our understanding and faith can help us truly change to a christlike (π―) character.
In Jacob 4:13 there were something amazing! "the Spirit speaketh the truth and lieth not. Wherefore, it speaketh of things as they really are, and of things as they really will be;" Yeah, so thats how you know!

Letter #24 -If something happens, ride a golf cart
June 12, 2017
Dear Family and Friends,
Life right now is quite worry free. It's wonderful. As a missionary, it has gotten a lot easier to just enjoy each day and take it as it is. This week we went on trade offs with the sister training leaders for a day. I stayed in Flemming with Sister Tryon, who has been in this area twice before! Sister Ganir and I tried to do more specific finding and we found several formers who are willing to meet with missionaries again. We had 3 investigators come to church this week. I'm sorry I have cheesy titles but it feels like an obligation. We have been biking a bit this week. I wish I could individually write all of you every week, unfortunately i do not have the time or focus for that, so if you want to hear from me more personally, ill commit to writing everyone back who writes me at this point. I am so grateful for all the family and friends who have been supporting me so far. thanks. sIster skelton had us over for dinner, it was so good. she is from haiti and speaks french to her children, it was so fun to watch. I found CTR washi tape in the apartment. well, i yall have more specific questions. let me know. ill try to answer them.

Letter #23 -We played ultimate Frisbee
June 5, 2017
It has been another week of adventures! This week Alexi decided to come to church! It was fast and testimony meeting, we were also hoping he would go up and bear his testimony, but he said he would next month :) Sister Waness also came to church and bore her testimony. Saturday, we had dinner with her and her husband Kenny. He said the closing prayer, and we were so surprised! Today is zone p-day, which means we get to hang out with our zone! since this is a new zone for me, there are a lot of missionaries i dont see so often. 3 Nephi 13 is a very enlighting chapter in the book of mormon about our relationship with God. I reccomend all to read it. I like verse 26 and 32
26 Behold the fowls of the air, for they sow not, neither do they reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
32 For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Im wearing a pokemon shirt, I think sister Kelly prue got the same one on her mission too!
People here are generally very nice. They offer us water and food, and anything else.
I hope you all are also having a great week. Right now I'm reading Our Heritage. I finished Our Search for Happiness.

Letter #22 -1 Year Left!!!! and more.....
May 29, 2017
It has been another great week. Today marks one year left, meaning next year this day I'll be heading home! Yeah! In this area we are driving one of the new mission cars, the 2017 Chevy Malibu. You dont put the key in its transmission, it has its own wifi hospot. Unfortunately, the church wont pay for the wifi, so after the free trial was up, it didnt work anymoreπ
π
It's a fun ride. Tyresa and John came to church this week, they really enjoyed it. Probably because I spoke in sacrament meeting πThe Flemming Elders and Sisters all spoke to the congregation. I discussed blessings God promises when we build of his kingdom, and details surrounding that.
This week we had zone conference. The spirit was incredibly powerful as President Lee bore his testimony of missionary work and the atonement. He also showed clips of Elder Holland and President Eyring sharing similar thoughts. I wish the whole world was there. The ward mission leader Brother Rivera is very excited about his calling, which will bless the ward so much! His dedication will help the ward council really strengthen the members and bring many miracles to the area. πΈπΈπΈ
My belief in priesthood authority has strengthened a lot while on my mission. Also Joseph Smith. We met with an investigator, Alexi, who has many similar beliefs but doesn't get the restoration part at all. π¬π¬
It's getting pretty hot here. When we knock on people's doors, they sometimes offer us water. People here definitely don't have an issue with talking, which can make it a little hard to share our messages. My favorite video right now is part of the mormon messages for youth called "staying spiritually fit" The EFY songs are pretty fun too. ππ
Last Monday we were on the way to Walmart and it rained so hard we couldn't see outside our car! For about 20 minutes it rained very hard. That is a common thing here.
OK so I wrote stuff in my journal, but I forgot it, so sorry this is about it. Love ya'll!

Letter #21 -Amazing adventures + ππππππΈ
May 22, 2017
Its been another wonderfull week....in Florida!!! This week I was transfered from Georgia to Flemming Islands, Florida! It is a really nice place here, very beautiful. Yet, there are still people to teach the gospel. The spirit will testify to anyone with a willing heart that there is peace when we live the gospel of Jesus Christ. My new companion is Sister Ganir, she is a hard worker and knows the area well. We had a ward activity, the young women held an auction to raise money for girls camp. They sold desserts such as oreo pie, oreo truffles, heath cake, reeeses cake, orange rolls, and other things. They also had a dinner before, and for the first time I ate jalpeno corn bread! There was also a lot of fried chicken πππ
I have met a lot of the members already, but still have to remember who they are. In my district here there are another set of sisters, (when in my district in Georgia, it was only my companion and I) There are also two sets of Elders. We found a lot of new investigators this week, including a family who has investigated before. They said they are open to anything right now. They have not yet prayed about and found a testimony of the Book of Mormon, which is really important for them to further progress in this gospel. We hope we can help them with that as we read it with them and teach them how to pray.
Last night we visited a less active member of the ward. She is a sweet, old french lady. She is married to her 5th husband and is very poor. She has her own paintings all over her walls and other art as well. She shared some stories about her past husbands and her weight loss experience. She walked us out to our car, because my companion was worried about another person who was in the area seeing us.
One of the youth members has a friend named Savannah, who wants to be baptized! She goes to seminary and has gone to several church activites in the past. We hope her parents approve so we can help her get to baptism as soon as possible!
1 Nephi 17:36 "Behold the Lord created the earth that it should be inhabited; and he hath created his children that they should possess it."

Letter #20 -Transfers, Mothers Day, and I'm going to Florida!
May 15, 2017
Hello Family and Friends!
Many important and exciting things happened this past week!
1. The FJM Missionaries sang at the Brad Wilcox devotional in Jacksonville, and Brother
Wilcox gave an amazing talk about Grace and Eternal Salvation. He told us that YES, we
are indeed saved by grace, but that our understanding of Eternal Salvation is what is
different from most others. While many hope they are on the good side of God, but never
change and accept the power of the atonement of Jesus Christ in their lives. Meanwhile
we are accepting the atonement to help us CHANGE and eventually become heavenly
beings like our Heavenly Father so we canenjoy all that He has! How amazing to know that
all things are possible through Christ.
2. Transfer calls happened and I'm leaving my first area and going to Flemming Islands in
Florida! At first I was told I would be going to Macclenny, but this morning I was called and
told I was going to Fleming Islands instead! I'm so excited to see what new adventures
are waiting for me there. Bye bye, Brunswick, GA....Bye Sister Williams :(
3. Random rainstorms! The air gets really wet right before it rains and then it just POURS.
Fun. but not as fun when you are trying to share the gospel, haha.
4. MOTHERS DAY :) I was able to skype my family and say hi to them! They are still the
same people as 5 months ago, I still love my mom ;)
Our Investigator, Tayvin, came to church Sunday, and then he came bowling with us
missionaries today and some members as well! We hope he will keep moving forward and
truly find a testimony!
I'll try to take more pictures...

Letter #19 - HELLOOO
May 8, 2017
Sorry for no weekly last week, p-days are actually insane! Today we had zone p-day and all met in Nahunta, which is nowhere and the sun beat on us, but I am getting more of a tan than i even had in my life (on my arms ;) We bbq'd hamburgers and hotdogs. Its fun to talk and spend time with the other missionaries.
I dont think Isaiah chapters are something to complain about. I agree they are a little harder to read, but after a few days of reading it over and over, its comes together and you really gain a better perspective of what the Lord has in mind for us. Its crazy how everything starts to make more sense after becoming a missionary. There is a lot of "deep" doctrine right in your face in the Book of Mormon, people just pass by it though, because they dont easily understand it. But its right there people!
The missionaries are singing at a Brad Wilcox devotional on friday. On saturday we will have transfer calls, and on Sunday we get to skype our families :) for mothers day. Fun week this week.
Last week I had trade offs and I went with Sister Warr to Lake Butler for a day. We saw a few people. For one lesson we sat with a bunch of old guys on their porch in the evening while they were drinking beer, grilling fish, and asking us about why our church is true as opposed to theirs. Its funny because without the spirit of God, why would we ever put ourselves in that position? The gospel of Jesus Christ and his atonement IS real. But you have to be seeking and searching for truth to know.
Love, Sister Prue
